CITA Rallies for Education at Hofstra University March 24th

Thank you to all the CITA members who attended this rally, as well as the ones at Sachem and in Manhattan. We would also like to thank the members who gave of their time to come down to NYSUT to help with our PAC mailings.

2011 Board Election and Budget Results

On May 17, 2011 Central Islip residents came out to vote for the school district budget and for candidates for the Central Islip School Board.

For the 6th year in a row the community passed the proposed budget. (977 residents voted to pass the budget, 968 voted to fail the budget)

CITA endorsed candidates Olga Barahona and Edna Carbajal were voted in as board members.

In lieu of a January Citation, the CITA has donated to the Central Islip Civic Council and the the Central Islip School District Homeless Advocate to distribute directly to our students and their families. (hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts and hoodies, pajamas, and visa gift cards)
