Central Islip Teachers Association

Meet the Public Relations Committee!

Chairperson: Tammy Walsh  Tammy Walsh

Committee Members: Jennifer Brand, Georgina Hernandez, and Stacy Humann

What we do:

The Public Relations Committee’s primary function is to coordinate communication between the leadership and the membership of the Central Islip Teachers Association.

The CITAtion, published monthly from September through June, is CITA’s primary informational publication. Officers and committee chairs contribute articles which share what their committee has been working on and how it affects the membership. Committee members and CITA members often contribute as guest writers. CITA members are encouraged to contribute to the CITAtion in several ways. Columns such as “Ideas that Build Excitement” and “In the Spotlight” are specifically designed to allow CITA’s members to share what is going on in their schools and classrooms with their colleagues.

The Home CITAtion, published annually to all Central Islip residents, highlights CITA’s commitment to the Central Islip School District and community.

The District Directory is a comprehensive listing of all district employees and their contact information. Building reps assist in the collection of information and staff lists for this publication.

The CITA website, www.centralislipta.com, provides each of the committees with an avenue for communicating important information to the CITA membership. Logon to view CITA’s executive board minutes, professional library information and other valuable resources. The website also makes such important and informative websites such as NYSUT and AFL-CIO readily available.
